Who we are
Not Your Average Rican is a movement powered by Joaquin Medina, a native of Humacao, Puerto Rico. He is the Co-Creator of Diosas al Natural, a Photo Project turned community celebrating women with Naturally Curly/ Coily Hair in Puerto Rico and beyond and has been active in the music, sports and cultural scene in Puerto Rico since as far back as he can remember.

The phrase "Not Your Average Rican" was inspired by those reppin' la isla del encanto with pride. Those pushing the boundaries of what is considered normal in music, style, activism or in their lifestyle in general. We don't accept mediocre. Average is not enough, hence the term, ''Not Your Average Rican".
